Interim Management

  • Concept

    • Does an interim manager always fill an existing position?
    • Yes, the interim manager always occupies an existing position, but there are exceptions. It may be a new function for which a permanent director may be filled in later on, or it may be that a job that will be cancelled at a later date, for example as a result of a reorganisation. An exception could be project interim management assignment with a considerable impact and/or risk. If the assignment has the character of supporting and an added to the position, it seems process management and this is the field of consultancy and not interim management.
